Men and women are complex beings with different desires, needs and wants. God in his own wisdom created them us way, but most often, it seems that members of the opposite sex are perplexed about the lifestyle and behavourial patterns of the other.
In this short piece, I have highlighted a few things that men tend to get less understanding of in women. Join me as I try to bring clarity on some of these issues and feel free to leave your questions and opinions in the comments section.
1.Menstruation Wahala
This is one of the major things that men are mostly ignorant about in ladies. It is the monthly flow of blood that every lady in her prime experiences. It’s this same process that enables ovulation which helps the woman take in seed.
Most men are ignorant of this and tend to either discriminate or trivialize it. Some men don’t even eat meals prepared by their wives during this period.
There is nothing abominable about menstruation. God made it so for a reason and as ladies, we need your love, care and attention during this period because for most ladies, it is associated with pain, discomfort, mood swings and a plethora of other challenges. Ladies, I’m I speaking your language?
2.Looks
Another area where guys tend to misunderstand ladies is in the area of fashion. This probably stems out of the fact that most guys don’t usually concern themselves much with their outward appearance whereas ladies are very particular about their dressing as they want to look good.
Self-awareness forms a vital part of our lives right from adolescence. Again, ladies are naturally endowed with special features and so always we take longer periods to dress to bring out the best in them, so the next time your woman spends more time in front of her mirror, please reason with her.
3. Love for money and material stuff.
This is another area where guys also misunderstand ladies. Guys are of the opinion that ladies in general are spendthrift and materialistic but it isn’t really so.
The issue is that the needs of ladies are generally many. We need a lot of things in our day to day living. From hair to clothes, cosmetics and toiletries, just name them. It is the duty of king to provide for his queen, that’s just the way it is.
A lady might have her own money but we pride ourselves in the fact that our men are capable. That is not to say men are supposed to put up with unsupportive and insensitive ladies. There are some gold diggers out there so do watch out.
4.Saying the opposite of what we mean
Last but not the least, this. It is something that guys cant comprehend about ladies. For instance when teasing a lady, she may like it but will “oh stop that” and when you stop, she’ll register her displeasure and at times, even ask why you stopped. funny right?
Another classic example is when we ask men to leave us alone when we actually need their attention and pampering at that moment than never before.
The truth of the matter is that there is no book or article that can help men to fully comprehend this phenomena but let me give you a little clue; Ladies don’t just speak by words, our actions do the talking most times and so one has to be mature and discerning in other to be able to handle us.
All said and done, men need patience and a heart filled with love to fully understand women.
