“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they
that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21
This piece revolves around my deepest thoughts about why
it’s so easy to judge people, without even knowing them. Not knowing the
circumstances that plague them. Why do we judge people by what we have heard
about them?
Hurtful words leave people with emotional scars, some that
can never be erased even after one has been completely healed of the pain that
was inflicted. Words can tear and rip hearts apart. Words can make people feel
worthless and unwanted, to the point of wanting to end their lives therefore
watch your tongue and be mindful of the things you say to people.
Take a walk on the streets, look around. What do you see?
The majority of the people you see are walking heads down with some ready to
take their lives.
A lot of people have pains that you don’t know about. We
each have our likes and dislikes, feelings about others. Everyone has a unique
perspective on things.
Your thoughts, actions, and preferences and experiences are
different from those of others.
If you are not being judged for choices and mistakes, why
judge others?
Some of the people you are judging are the same people that
have a pill, a knife, or a blade hidden in their rooms. Don’t be the trigger.
People have witnessed things you probably have not. Things you cannot handle.
Well, let me ask you this;
Would you be happy to be judged by someone who does not know
what you are going through?
How would you feel?
Your comments could ultimately be life or death. It could be
the last straw that hurt the camel’s back. Will your words save someone’s life
or break them down?
Choose your words carefully as to not offend others.
To anyone who has been judged never think low of yourself.
That will only end you up collapsing like a glass shattering into millions of
shards. No matter what
you do or say people will still judge you.
You know why?
It’s human nature. Thinking about what people say about you
will push you down to the dark pits of depression. You may be broken, but you
are also strong.
Keep your head up and forge forward!
