Meet Rhyme Sonny; The Greatest African Spoken Word Artiste Of All Time.

 

Creating imagery and capturing audiences with words, the hard task of every poet. Bedwei Kwaku Sonny known popularly as Rhyme Sonny however makes it easy. Celebrated by both poet and non-poets as a contemporary artists for his wordplay, he continuously steps-up with each performance. Through major and minor projects, he champions the cause of contemporary poetry in Ghana.

As a creative entrepreneur, he combines work and art as the co-founder of the Poetry Exchange, founder and president of People of Equal Thoughts and Spirits (P.O.E.T.S) and the Poetry Exchange, Member of World Poetry Movement 

Rhyme sonny has had numerous performances to his credit across Africa. The AU 50th anniversary celebration, launch of MTN at 20, Okyeame Kwame’s versatile show, Tigo blustar awards, Secret of Gh girls by K.S.M, Wogbe Jeke; the heritage theatre series. African youth conference on governance, MTN Heroes of Change, MTN Music FestivalS, Stratcomm Africa’s praise jam2015 and MESH Creative Confab are in the list of events he has spoken at. 

He was adjudged World spoken word act in India in the year 2017 One would have described this feet as Rhyme Sonny’s peak but no, it was just the beginning of greater things to come. 2018 he earned the titles “Mr Poetry” and “The G.O.A.T” without a manager, promoter, publicist, financier, creative director, tour planner, road manager, videographer or photographer. He started the year without a car and a phone and persevered through a lot of downturns and maintained his humble persona.
