Deputy CEO Of NEIP, Ms. Abigail Laryea Encouraged The Youth To Take Advantage Of The Youstart Programme.

The deputy CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program (NEIP), Ms. Abigail Swad Laryea, has encouraged Young Entrepreneurs to take advantage of the Youstart Initiative set to take off in March 2022.

The Finance Minister explained in the 2022 budget statement and economic plan, that the Government has set aside, “GH¢1 billion each year to catalyze an ecosystem to create 1 million jobs and in partnership with the Finance Institutions and Development Partners, raise another 2 Billion Cedis”.

Ms. Laryea commended the government for the initiative, explaining that it is going to address the issue of funding and sustainability for startups, an observation she made when she toured the country speaking to young entrepreneurs.

The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) is an initiative developed with the aim of making provision for business developmental services for young businesses, thus giving them startup incubators and funding to enable their growth and success.

The program is set within the context of middle-income status, faced by the majority of Ghanaians to be able to build a better industry driven-economy, proficient in providing decent jobs that are absolutely suitable and sustainable for development.

It is this program that birthed, “YouStart”, a vehicle by the Government with the mission of supporting the youth and young entrepreneurs to gain access to capital. The initiative is set to be implemented by the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) with offices spread across the 16 regions, alongside Private sector partnership centers, aided by the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) which comprises; 16 GEA offices across the country, 37 Business Resource Centers in 37 Districts and 190 Business Advisory Offices in 190 Districts.

The YouStart initiative will kickstart in March 2022.
